What are the payment processing fees?
We charge 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, which is competitive with industry standards. There are no monthly fees, setup fees, or hidden costs. You only pay when you process a payment.
Do I need a separate merchant account?
No. Camp Operator includes built-in payment processing through Stripe. You just connect your bank account and start accepting payments immediately - no merchant account applications or approvals needed.
How quickly do I get my money?
Standard payouts arrive in your bank account within 2 business days. We also offer next-day payouts for an additional fee if you need faster access to your funds.
Is storing credit cards secure?
Yes. We use Stripe for payment processing, which is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant - the highest level of security certification. Card data is tokenized and never stored on our servers. You get the convenience of cards on file without the security risk.
Can I accept payments in person?
Yes. You can manually enter card details for phone or in-person payments, send payment links via text or email, or use a card reader with our mobile app for swipe/tap payments.
How does automatic billing work for monthly tenants?
You set up each tenant with their rate and billing date. On that date, the system automatically charges their card on file, generates a receipt, and records the payment. Failed payments are automatically retried and you are notified of any issues.
Can guests pay deposits at booking?
Absolutely. You configure your deposit policy (fixed amount or percentage) and deposits are collected automatically when guests book online. The remaining balance can be charged automatically before arrival or at check-in.
What if a payment fails?
Failed payments are automatically retried. You are notified immediately and can see all failed payments in your dashboard. You can also send a payment link directly to the guest to update their card or pay with a different method.
