POS Questions Answered

Do I need separate hardware for the POS system?

No special hardware required. Camp Operator POS works on any device with a web browser - tablets, computers, or smartphones. For barcode scanning, you can use any USB or Bluetooth scanner. For receipts, any standard receipt printer works.

How does charging to a guest account work?

When a registered guest makes a purchase, you can charge it directly to their reservation. The charge appears on their account instantly. At checkout, all charges (site rental plus any additional purchases) are settled together on one final bill.

Can I track inventory for my camp store?

Yes. You can set up products with quantities, receive low stock alerts, and run inventory reports. The system tracks what sells, when it sells, and alerts you when items need reordering.

What payment methods can I accept?

Accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), debit cards, mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and cash. You can also split payments across multiple methods.

Is there an extra cost for the POS features?

No. The POS functionality is included with Camp Operator at no additional monthly cost. You only pay standard payment processing fees when you process transactions.

Can different employees have different access levels?

Yes. You can set permissions by employee - some can only process sales, while managers can access reports, process refunds, and adjust inventory. All actions are logged by user.

How do I handle end-of-day cash drawer reconciliation?

The system tracks all cash transactions throughout the day. At closing, you count your drawer and enter the amount. Camp Operator compares expected vs actual and flags any discrepancies.

Can I run the POS offline if internet goes down?

The system requires internet for payment processing, but you can record cash sales offline. When connection restores, everything syncs automatically. We recommend a mobile hotspot as backup.
