Camp Operator can work alongside or partially replace your accounting software. For simple operations, our built-in reports may be sufficient. For complex accounting needs, use our QuickBooks/Xero integration to automatically sync reservation revenue while continuing to manage payroll and complex expenses in your accounting software.
How are credit card fees tracked?
Stripe processing fees are automatically tracked and categorized. You can see gross revenue, fees, and net deposits in your reports. For reconciliation, we match each Stripe payout to the specific reservations included, making it easy to verify your bank deposits.
Can I track revenue by individual site?
Yes! You can report revenue by individual site, site type, area/section, or park-wide. This helps identify your most profitable sites and make data-driven decisions about rates and improvements.
How do you handle occupancy tax?
Configure your occupancy tax rate (or multiple rates for different stay lengths) and the system automatically calculates tax on each reservation. Run tax reports monthly or quarterly showing taxable revenue and tax collected, ready for remittance.
What about metered electric billing?
Enter meter readings through the app, and the system calculates charges based on your rate structure (tiered, flat, or time-of-use). Electric revenue is tracked separately for clear reporting and can be billed separately or added to monthly invoices.
Can I give my accountant access?
Yes, create a read-only accountant role that provides access to financial reports and transaction history without access to guest data or operational features. Your accountant can pull reports anytime without bothering you.
How far back does financial history go?
All financial data is retained indefinitely. You can run reports and export data from any time period since you started using Camp Operator. Many parks run year-over-year comparisons to track growth.
Is my financial data secure?
Absolutely. All financial data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use the same security standards as banks. Access to financial features requires specific permissions, and all access is logged for audit purposes.
